Mastering DMM Market Cycles

Updated: February 2026 • 5 min read

The Deadman Mode economy is essentially a sped-up version of the main game economy, compressed into a few weeks. Understanding the phases of this lifecycle is the key to predicting price movements.

Phase 1: The Early Rush (Days 1-3)

Demand: Quest items, Low-level runes (Mind, Air, Fire), Bone bolts, Steel/Mithril Scimitars.
Strategy: Quests like Monkey Madness I, Animal Magnetism, and The Grand Tree are essential for DMM account builds. Items required for these quests (e.g., Gold Bar, Mithril Axe) will be in high demand during the first 24 hours.

Phase 2: The Magic Spike (Days 3-7)

As players unlock Ancient Magicks (Desert Treasure), the demand for Death Runes, Blood Runes, and Water Runes explodes. Mystic Robe sets also reach their peak value during this time.

The Breach Cycles

Since the introduction of Breaches, the economy has a "heartbeat". Breaches occur regularly and inject massive amounts of high-tier gear (Corrupted weaponry, Barrows items) into the game.

Smart Play: Buy gear 30 minutes after a breach ends. Panic sellers will dump their loot for cheap.

The End Game (Final Week)

As the season concludes, players liquidate their banks to swap gold to OSRS. Item prices usually crash, while the value of Swap Rates becomes extremely volatile. This is the time to be in liquid gold, not assets.
